Video Abstraction: “Pastelito Cup”
The word abstract can be interpreted in many ways, at first it was just figures and things being recorded from different angles, but now it can mean anything. For this video, I placed a cup on the lens of my phone camera to capture this unique isolation of what the lens is looking at. Since the cup has this texture of lines rounding about it, I flipped it to get a distorted or better said blurred illusion of the lights as they dance with each movement when passing through the lines creating organic footage of this abstract video. To achieve the light play effect, when editing I used a mirror effect for the lights to cross each other and added more brightness to the video to give it an extra bright feel to it. In addition to this organic piece, I have added audio to project a sense of adventure first starting low and soft, and as the lights move in The audio during this piece was edited in Audition and the video was distorted in Acid Cam.
